Shemoth (Exodus) 38:21-40:38

Shemoth (Exodus) Chapter 38

An Inventory of Materials  (Ezra 2:68–70 ;  Nehemiah 7:70–73)

21 This is the inventory for the Dwelling Place, theDwelling Place of the Witness, as recorded at Moshe’s command by the Luyim under the direction of Ithamar son of Aharon the priest. 22Betsal’al son of Uri, son of Ḥur, of the tribe of Yahudah, made everything that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe. 23 With him was Oholiaḇ son of Aḥisamaḵ, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, designer, and embroiderer in blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen.

24 All the gold from the wave offering used for the work on the set-apart place totaled 29 talents and 730 shekels, according to the shekel of the set-apart place.

25 The silver from those numbered among the congregation totaled 100 talents and 1,775 shekels, according to the shekel of the set-apart place— 26 a beka per person, that is, half a shekel, according to the shekel of the set-apart place, from everyone twenty years of age or older who had crossed over to be numbered, a total of 603,550 men.

27 The hundred talents of silver were used to cast the bases of the sanctuary and the bases of the veil—100 bases from the 100 talents, one talent per base.

28With the 1,775 shekels of silver† he made the hooks for the posts, overlaid their tops, and supplied bands for them.29 The bronze from the wave offering totaled 70 talents and 2,400 shekels.30 He used it to make the bases for the entrance to the Tent of Appointment, the bronze altar and its bronze grating, all the utensils for the altar, 31 the bases for the surrounding courtyard and its gate, and all the tent pegs for the Dwelling Place and its surrounding courtyard.

Shemoth (Exodus) Chapter 39

The Ephod  (Exodus 28:6–14)

1From the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn they made specially woven garments for ministry in the sanctuary, as well as the seat apart garments for Aharon, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

2 Bezalel made the ephod of finely spun linen embroidered with gold, and with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn. 3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut threads from them to interweave with the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and fine linen—the work of a skilled craftsman. 4 They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached at two of its corners, so it could be fastened. 5 And the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod was of one piece with the ephod, of the same workmanship—with gold, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and with finely spun linen, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

6 They mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings, engraved like a seal with the names of the sons of Yasharal. 7 Then they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Yasharal, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

The Breastpiece  (Exodus 28:15–30)

8 He made the breastpiece with the same workmanship as the ephod, with gold, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and with finely spun linen. 9 It was square when folded over double, a span long and a span wide.

10 And they mounted on it four rows of gemstones:

The first row had a ruby, a topaz, and an emerald;

11 the second row had a turquoise, a
sapphire, and a diamond;

12the third row had a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;

13 and the fourth row had a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper.

These stones were mounted in gold filigree settings.

14The twelve stones corresponded to the names of the sons of Yasharal. Each stone was engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.

15 For the breastpiece they made braided chains like cords of pure gold. 16 They also made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the two rings to the two corners of the breastpiece. 17Then they fastened the two gold chains to the two gold rings at the corners of the breastpiece, 18 and they fastened the other ends of the two chains to the two filigree settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.

19 They made two more gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece, on the inside edge next to the ephod.

20 They made two additional gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, on its front, near the seam just above its woven waistband. 21 Then they tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece was above the waistband of the ephod and would not swing out from the ephod, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

Additional Priestly Garments (Exodus 28:31–43)

22 They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth, the work of a weaver, 23 with an opening in the center of the robe like that of a garment, with a collar around the opening so that it would not tear.

24 They made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely spun linen on the lower hem of the robe. 25They also made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates, 26 alternating the bells and pomegranates around the lower hem of the robe to be worn for ministry, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

27 For Aharon and his sons they made tunics of fine linen, the work of a weaver, 28 as well as the turban of fine linen, the ornate headbands and undergarments of finely spun linen, 29 and the sash of finely spun linen, embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

30 They also made the plate of the set-apart crown of pure gold, and they engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal:

SET APART TO 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.

31 Then they fastened to it a blue cord to mount it on the turban, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

Moshe Approves the Work

32 So all the work for the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Appointment, was completed. The Yasharalites did everything just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

33 Then they brought the Dwelling Place to Moshe:

the tent with all its furnishings, its clasps, its frames, its crossbars, and its posts and bases;

34 the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, and the veil of the covering;

35 the ark of the Witness with its poles and the Lid of Atonement;

36 the table with all its utensils and the showbread;

37 the pure gold lampstand with its row of lamps and all its utensils, as well as the oil for the light;

38 the gold altar, the anointing oil, the
fragrant incense, and the curtain for the
entrance to the tent;

39 the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles, and all its utensils;

the basin with its stand;

40 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases;

the curtain for the gate of the courtyard, its ropes and tent pegs, and all the equipment for the service of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Appointment;

41 and the woven garments for ministering in the set apart place, both the set-apart garments for Aharon the priest and the garments for his sons to serve as priests.42The Yasharalites had done all the work just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe. 43 And Moshe inspected all the work and saw that they had accomplished it just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded. So Moshe blessed them.

Shemoth (Exodus) Chapter 40

Setting Up the Tabernacle  (Acts 7:44–47 ;  Hebrews 9:1–10)

1Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to Moshe, 2 “On the first day of the first month you are to set up the Dwelling Place (Mishkân) of the Tent of Appointment. 3 Put the ark of the Witness in it and screen off the ark with the veil. 4Then bring in the table and set out its arrangement; bring in the lampstand as well, and set up its lamps.

5 Place the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the Witness, and hang the curtain at the entrance to the Dwelling Place. 6Place the altar of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Appointment. 7 And place the basin between the Tent of Appointment and the altar, and put water in it.

8 Set up the surrounding courtyard and hang the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard.

9 Take the anointing oil and anoint the Dwelling Place and everything in it; set it apart along with all its furnishings, and it shall be set apart. 10 Anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; set apart the altar, and it shall be most set apart. 11 Anoint the basin and its stand and set them apart.

12 Then bring Aharon and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Appointment and wash them with water. 13And you are to clothe Aharon with the set apart garments, anoint him, and set him apart, so that he may serve Me as a priest. 14 Bring his sons forward and clothe them with tunics. 15 Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may also serve Me as priests. Their anointing shall be for them a permanent priesthood throughout their generations.”

16 Moshe did everything just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him. 17So the Dwelling Place was set up on the first day of the first month of the second year.

18 When Moshe set up the Dwelling Place, he laid its bases, positioned its frames, inserted its crossbars, and set up its posts. 19 Then he spread the tent over the Dwelling Place and put the covering over the tent, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him.

20 Moshe took the Witness and placed it in the ark, attaching the poles to the ark; and he set the mercy seat atop the ark. 21 Then he brought the ark into the Dwelling Place, put up the veil for the screen, and shielded off the ark of the Witness, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him.

22 Moshe placed the table in the Tent of Appointment on the north side of the Dwelling Place, outside the veil. 23 He arranged the bread on it before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him.

24 He also placed the lampstand in the Tent of Appointment opposite the table on the south side of the Dwelling Place 25 and set up the lamps before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him.

26Moshe placed the gold altar in the Tent of Appointment, in front of the veil, 27 and he burned fragrant incense on it, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him. 28 Then he put up the curtain at the entrance to the Dwelling Place. 29 He placed the altar of burnt offering near the entrance to the Dwelling Place, the Tent of Appointment, and offered on it the burnt offering and the grain offering, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him.

30 He placed the basin between the Tent of Appointment and the altar and put water in it for washing;

31and from it Moshe, Aharon, and his sons washed their hands and feet. 32 They washed whenever they entered the Tent of Appointment or approached the altar, just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded Moshe.

33 And Moshe set up the courtyard around the Dwelling Place and the altar, and he hung the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard. So Moshe finished the work.

The Cloud and the Glory  (Numbers 9:15–23)

34 Then the cloud covered the Tent of Appointment, and the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 filled the Dwelling Place. 35 Moshe was unable to enter the Tent of Appointment because the cloud had settled on it, and the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 filled the Dwelling Place.36 Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Dwelling Place, the Yasharalites would set out through all the stages of their journey. 37 If the cloud was not lifted, they would not set out until the day it was taken up. 38 For the cloud of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was over the Dwelling Place by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Yasharal through all their journeys.

Melaḵim Aleph (1 Kings)  7:51-8:21

Melaḵim Aleph (1 Kings) Chapter 7

51 So all the work that Sovereign Shelomoh had performed for the house of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was completed.

Then Shelomoh brought in the items his father Daud had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and the furnishings—and he placed them in the treasuries of the house of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.

Melaḵim Aleph (1 Kings) Chapter 8

The Ark Enters the Temple  (2 Chronicles 5:1–14)

1At that time Shelomoh assembled before him in Yarushalayim the elders of Yasharal—all the tribal heads and family leaders of the Yasharalites—to bring up the ark of the covenant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 from Tsyon, the City of Daud. 2 And all the men of Yasharal came together to Sovereign Shelomoh at the feast in the seventh month, the month of Ethanim.

3 When all the elders of Yasharal had arrived, the priests took up the ark, 4 and they brought up the ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and the Tent of Appointment with all its set apart furnishings. So the priests and Levites carried them up.

5 There, before the ark, Sovereign Shelomoh and the whole congregation of Yasharal who had assembled with him slaughter so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.

6 Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 to its place in the inner sanctuary of the House, the Most Set Apart Place, beneath the wings of the keruḇim. 7 For the keruḇim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its poles.

8The poles extended far enough that their ends were visible from the Set Apart Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Set Apart Place; and they are there to this day.

9 There was nothing in the ark except the two stone tablets that Moshe had placed in it at Horeb, where 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had made a covenant with the Yasharalites after they had come out of the land of Mitsrayim.

10 And when the priests came out of the Set Apart Place, the cloud filled the House of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 11  so that the priests could not stand there to minister because of the cloud. For the glory of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 filled the House of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.

Shelomoh Blesses 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 – YAHUAH   (2 Chronicles 6:1–11)

12 Then Shelomoh declared:

𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has said that He would dwell

in the thick cloud.

13I have indeed built You an exalted house,

a place for You to dwell forever.”

14And as the whole assembly of Yasharal stood there, the king turned around and blessed them all 15 and said:

“Blessed be 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, the Alahym of Yasharal, who has fulfilled with His own hand what He spoke with His mouth to my father Daud, saying, 16 ‘Since the day I brought My people Yasharal out of Mitsrayim, I have not chosen a city from any tribe of Yasharal in which to build a house so that My Name would be there. But I have chosen Daud to be over My people Yasharal.’

17 Now it was in the heart of my father Daud to build a house for the Name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, the Alahym of Yasharal. 18 But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to my father Daud, ‘Since it was in your heart to build a house for My Name, you have done well to have this in your heart. 19 Nevertheless, you are not the one to build it; but your son, your own offspring, will build the house for My Name.’20 Now 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has fulfilled the word that He spoke. I have succeeded my father Daud, and I sit on the throne of Yasharal, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 promised. I have built the house for the Name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, the Alahym of Yasharal. 21 And there I have provided a place for the ark, which contains the covenant of  𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 that He made with our fathers when He brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim.”

Iḇ`rim (Hebrews) 8:1-12

Iḇ`rim (Hebrews) Chapter 8

Messiah’s Eternal Priesthood

1The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a High Priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2 and who ministers in the set apart place and true tabernacle set up by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, not by man. 3 And since every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, it was necessary for this One also to have something to offer.

4 Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are already priests who offer gifts according to the law. 5 The place where they serve is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moshe was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown to you on the mountain.”

The New Covenant  (Jeremiah 31:26–40)

6Now, however, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been without fault, no place would have been sought for a second. 8 But Alahym found fault with the people and said:

“Behold, the days are coming, declares 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,

when I will make a new covenant

with the house of Yasharal

and with the house of Yahudah.

9 It will not be like the covenant

I made with their fathers

when I took them by the hand

to lead them out of the land of Mitsrayim,

because they did not abide by My covenant,

and I disregarded them,

declares 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.

10 For this is the covenant I will make

with the house of Yasharal

   after those days,

declares 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.

   I will put My laws in their minds

and inscribe them on their hearts.

   And I will be their Alahym,

and they will be My people.

11 No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother,

saying, ‘Know 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,’

   because they will all know Me,

from the least of them to the greatest.

12 For I will forgive their iniquities

and will remember their sins no more.”

More Torah Portions

NOTE: The Torah that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 gave to Moshe is divided into 54 portions, which is a practical way of reading the entire Torah each year. The new reading cycle traditionally starts after the seventh month moedim: Yom Teruah to Yom Shemini Atzeret. The 54th reading, Ve-Zot Ha-Berakhah, falls during Sukkot.

 ”So Moshe wrote down this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Luiy, who carried the ark of the covenant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, and to all the elders of Yasharal. Then Moshe commanded them, “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of remission of debt, during Chag Sukkot [the Feast of Tabernacles], when all Yasharal comes before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym at the place He will choose, you are to read this law in the hearing of all Yasharal. Assemble the people—men, women, children, and the foreigners within your gates—so that they may listen and learn to fear 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym and to follow carefully all the words of this law.  Then their children who do not know the law will listen and learn to fear 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym, as long as you live in the land that you are crossing the Yarden to possess.” Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 31: 9 – 12

It is not required that the Torah be read in this order. However, we find the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 reveals new truths and builds our understanding of His Word each and every time we open and read His Word. We experience renewal and special blessings with each reading. We, therefore, believe it is important to make these readings available to the followers of the Way through this platform.
