Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) Chapter 1
The Command to Leave Ḥorěḇ (Exodus 33:1–6)
1 These are the words that Mosheh spoke to all Yasharal in the wilderness east of the Yarděn—in the desert plain opposite Suph—between Paran and Tophel, Laḇan, and Ḥatsěroth, and Di Zahaḇ.
2 It is an eleven-day journey from Ḥorěḇ to Qaḏěsh Barněa by way of Mount Sě‛ir. 3 In the fortieth year, on the first day of the eleventh month, Mosheh proclaimed to the Yasharalites all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had commanded him concerning them. 4 This was after he had defeated Siḥon king of the Amorites, who lived in Ḥeshbon, and then at Ḥeshbon had defeated Oḡ king of Bashan, who lived in Ashtaroth.
5 On the east side of the Yarděn in the land of Mo’aḇ, Mosheh began to explain this law, saying:
6 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym said to us at Ḥorěḇ: “You have stayed at this mountain long enough. 7 Resume your journey and go to the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the desert plain, in the hill country, in the foothills, in the Negeḇ, and along the seacoast to the land of the Kena‛anites and to Leḇanon, as far as the great River Euphrates.
8 See, I have placed the land before you. Enter and possess the land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 swore He would give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their descendants after them.”
Mosheh Appoints Leaders (Exodus 18:13–27)
9 At that time I said to you, “I cannot carry the burden for you alone. 10 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym has multiplied you, so that today you are as numerous as the stars in the sky. 11 May 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, the Alahym of your fathers, increase you a thousand times over and bless you as He has promised. 12 But how can I bear your troubles, burdens, and disputes all by myself? 13 Choose for yourselves wise, understanding, and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will appoint them as your leaders.”
14 And you answered me and said, “What you propose to do is good.”
15 So I took the leaders of your tribes, wise and respected men, and appointed them as leaders over you—as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens, and as officers for your tribes.
16 At that time I charged your judges: “Hear the disputes between your brothers, and judge fairly between a man and his brother or a foreign resident. 17 Show no partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be intimidated by anyone, for judgment belongs to Alahym. And bring to me any case too difficult for you, and I will hear it.”
18 And at that time I commanded you all the things you were to do.
Twelve Spies Sent Out (Numbers 13:1–33)
19 And just as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym had commanded us, we set out from Ḥorěḇ and went toward the hill country of the Amorites, through all the vast and terrifying wilderness you have seen. When we reached Qaḏěsh Barněa, 20 I said: “You have reached the hill country of the Amorites, which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym is giving us. 21 See, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym has placed the land before you. Go up and take possession of it as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, the Alahym of your fathers, has told you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”
22 Then all of you approached me and said, “Let us send men ahead of us to search out the land and bring us word of what route to follow and which cities to enter.”
23 The plan seemed good to me, so I selected twelve men from among you, one from each tribe. 24 They left and went up into the hill country, and came to the Valley of Eshcol and spied out the land. 25 They took some of the fruit of the land in their hands, carried it down to us, and brought us word: “It is a good land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym is giving us.”
Yasharal’s Rebellion (Numbers 14:1–12)
26 But you were unwilling to go up; you rebelled against the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym. 27 You grumbled in your tents and said, “Because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Mitsrayim to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to be annihilated. 28 Where can we go? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, saying: ‘The people are larger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the heavens. We even saw the descendants of the Anaqim there.’ ”
29 So I said to you: “Do not be terrified or afraid of them! 30 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym, who goes before you, will fight for you, just as you saw Him do for you in Mitsrayim 31 and in the wilderness, where 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way by which you traveled until you reached this place.”
32 But in spite of all this, you did not trust 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym, 33 who went before you on the journey, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day, to seek out a place for you to camp and to show you the road to travel.
Yasharal’s Penalty (Numbers 14:20–35)
34 When 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 heard your words, He grew angry and swore an oath, saying, 35 “Not one of the men of this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give your fathers, 36 except Kalěḇ son of Yephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land on which he has set foot, because he followed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 wholeheartedly.”
37 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 was also angry with me on your account, and He said, “Not even you shall enter the land. 38 Yahushua the son of Nun, who stands before you, will enter it. Encourage him, for he will enable Yasharal to inherit the land. 39 And the little ones you said would become captives—your children who on that day did not know good from evil—will enter the land that I will give them, and they will possess it. 40 But you are to turn back and head for the wilderness along the route to the Sea of Reads. ”
The Defeat at Ḥormah (Numbers 14:40–45)
41 “We have sinned against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,” you replied. “We will go up and fight, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym has commanded us.” Then each of you put on his weapons of war, thinking it easy to go up into the hill country.
42 But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to me, “Tell them not to go up and fight, for I am not with you to keep you from defeat by your enemies.”
43 So I spoke to you, but you would not listen. You rebelled against the command of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and presumptuously went up into the hill country.
44 Then the Amorites who lived in the hills came out against you and chased you like a swarm of bees. They routed you from Sě‛ir all the way to Ḥormah. 45 And you returned and wept before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, but He would not listen to your voice or give ear to you.
46 For this reason you stayed in Qaḏěsh for a long time—a very long time.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) Chapter 2
Wanderings in the Wilderness
1 Then we turned back and headed for the wilderness by way of the Sea of Reeds, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had instructed me, and for many days we wandered around Mount Sě‛ir.
2 At this time 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to me, 3 “You have been wandering around this hill country long enough; turn to the north 4 and command the people: ‘You will pass through the territory of your brothers, the descendants of Ěsau, who live in Sě‛ir. They will be afraid of you, so you must be very careful. 5 Do not provoke them, for I will not give you any of their land, not even a footprint, because I have given Mount Sě‛ir to Ěsau as his possession. 6 You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’ ”
7 Indeed, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym has been with you these forty years, and you have lacked nothing.
8 So we passed by our brothers, the descendants of Ěsau, who live in Sě‛ir. We turned away from the desert plain road, which comes up from Ěylath and Etsyon Geḇer, and traveled along the road of the Wilderness of Mo’aḇ. 9 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to me, “Do not harass the Mo’aḇites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, because I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as their possession.”
10 (The Ěmites used to live there, a people great and many, as tall as the Anaqim. 11 Like the Anaqim, they were also regarded as Rephaim, though the Mo’aḇites called them Ěmites. The Ḥorites used to live in Sě‛ir, but the descendants of Ěsau drove them out. They destroyed the Ḥorites from before them and settled in their place, just as Yasharal did in the land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 gave them as their possession.)
13 “Now arise and cross over the wadi Zereḏ.”
So we crossed over the wadi Zereḏ.
14 The time we spent traveling from Qaḏěsh Barněa until we crossed over the wadi Zereḏ was thirty-eight years, until that entire generation of fighting men had perished from the camp, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had sworn to them. 15 Indeed, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄’s hand was against them, to eliminate them from the camp, until they had all perished.
16 Now when all the fighting men among the people had died, 17 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to me, 18 “Today you are going to cross the border of Mo’aḇ at Ar. 19 But when you get close to the Ammonites, do not harass them or provoke them, for I will not give you any of the land of the Ammonites. I have given it to the descendants of Lot as their possession.”
20 (That too was regarded as the land of the Rephaim, who used to live there, though the
Ammonites called them Zamzummim. 21 They were a people great and many, as tall as the Anaqim. But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 destroyed them from before the Ammonites, who drove them out and settled in their place, 22 just as He had done for the descendants of Ěsau who lived in Sě‛ir, when He destroyed the Ḥorites from before them. They drove them out and have lived in their place to this day. 23 And the Awwim, who lived in villages as far as Azzah (Gaza), were destroyed by the Kaphtorim, who came out of Kaphtor and settled in their place.)
The Defeat of Siḥon (Numbers 21:21–30)
24 “Arise, set out, and cross the wadi Arnon. See, I have delivered into your hand Siḥon the Amorite, king of Ḥeshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession of it and engage him in battle. 25 This very day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon all the nations under heaven. They will hear the reports of you and tremble in anguish because of you.”
26 So from the Wilderness of Qeḏěmoth I sent messengers with an offer of peace to Siḥon king of Ḥeshbon, saying, 27 “Let us pass through your land; we will stay on the main road. We will not turn to the right or to the left. 28 You can sell us food to eat and water to drink in exchange for silver. Only let us pass through on foot, 29 just as the descendants of Ěsau who live in Sě‛ir and the Mo’aḇites who live in Ar did for us, until we cross the Yarděn into the land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym is giving us.”
30 But Siḥon king of Ḥeshbon would not let us pass through, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym had made his spirit stubborn and his heart obstinate, that He might deliver him into your hand, as is the case this day.
31 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to me, “See, I have begun to deliver Siḥon and his land over to you. Now begin to conquer and possess his land.”
32 So Siḥon and his whole army came out for battle against us at Jahaz. 33 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym delivered him over to us, and we defeated him and his sons and his whole army.
34 At that time we captured all his cities and committed to destruction the people of every city, including women and children. We left no survivors. 35 We carried off for ourselves only the livestock and the plunder from the cities we captured.
36 From Aro‛ěr on the edge of the wadi Arnon, along with the city in the valley, even as far as Gil‛aḏ, not one city had walls too high for us. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym gave us all of them. 37 But you did not go near the land of the Ammonites, or the land along the banks of the wadi Yabboq, or the cities of the hill country, or any place that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym had forbidden.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) Chapter 3
The Defeat of Oḡ (Numbers 21:31–35)
1 Then we turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Oḡ king of Bashan and his whole army came out to meet us in battle at Eḏre‛i. 2 But 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said to me, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Siḥon king of the Amorites, who lived in Ḥeshbon.”
3 So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym also delivered Oḡ king of Bashan and his whole army into our hands. We struck them down until no survivor was left.
4 At that time we captured all sixty of his cities. There was not a single city we failed to take—the entire region of Argoḇ, the kingdom of Oḡ in Bashan. 5 All these cities were fortified with high walls and gates and bars, and there were many more unwalled villages. 6 We devoted them to destruction, as we had done to Siḥon king of Ḥeshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children of every city.
7 But all the livestock and plunder of the cities we carried off for ourselves.
8 At that time we took from the two kings of the Amorites the land across the Yarděn, from the Arnon Valley as far as Mount Hermon— 9 which the Tsiḏonians call Ḥermon, Siryon – but the Amorites call Senir— 10 all the cities of the plateau, all Gil‛aḏ, and all Bashan, as far as Salḵah and Eḏre‛i, in the kingdom of Oḡ.
11 (For only Oḡ king of Bashan had remained of the remnant of the Rephaim. His bed of iron, nine cubits long and four cubits wide, according to the cubit of a man, is still in Rabbah of the Ammonites.)
Land Division East of the Yarděn (Numbers 32:1–42 ; Joshua 13:8–14)
12 So at that time we took possession of this land. To the Re’uḇěnites and the Gaḏites I gave the land beyond Aro‛ěr along the wadi Arnon, and half the hill country of Gil‛aḏ, along with its cities.
13 To the half-tribe of Manashsheh I gave the rest of Gil‛aḏ and all of Bashan, the kingdom of Oḡ. (The entire region of Argoḇ, the whole territory of Bashan, used to be called the land of the Rephaim.) 14 Jair, a descendant of Manashsheh, took the whole region of Argoḇ as far as the border of the Geshurites and Ma‛aḵathites. He renamed Bashan after himself, Bashan of Hawoth Ya‛ir, by which it is called to this day.
15 To Maḵir I gave Gil‛aḏ, 16 and to the Re’uḇěnites and the Gaḏites I gave the territory from Gil‛aḏ to the wadi Arnon (the middle of the wadi was the border) and up to the Yabboq River, the border of the Ammonites. 17 The Yarděn River in the desert plain bordered it from Kinnereth to the Sea of the Araḇah (the Salt Sea ) with the slopes of Pisgah to the east.
18 At that time I commanded you: “𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym has given you this land to possess. All your men of valor are to cross over, armed for battle, ahead of your brothers, the Yasharalites. 19 But your wives, your children, and your livestock—I know that you have much livestock—may remain in the cities I have given you, 20 until 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 gives rest to your brothers as He has to you, and they too have taken possession of the land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym is giving them across the Yarděn. Then each of you may return to the possession I have given you.”
21 And at that time I commanded Yahushua: “Your own eyes have seen all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym has done to these two kings. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 will do the same to all the kingdoms you are about to enter. 22 Do not be afraid of them, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Alahym Himself will fight for you.”

Yashayahu (Isaiah) Chapter 1
Yahudah’s Rebellion (2 Chronicles 28:5–15)
1 This is the vision concerning Yahudah and Yarusalem that YashaYahu son of Amots saw during the reigns of Uzziyahu, Yotham, Aḥaz, Ḥizqiyahu, kings of Yahudah.
2 Listen, O heavens, and give ear, O earth,
for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has spoken:
“I have raised children and brought them up,
but they have rebelled against Me.
3 The ox knows its owner,
and the donkey its master’s manger,
but Yasharal does not know;
My people do not understand.”
4 Alas, O sinful nation,
a people laden with iniquity,
a brood of evildoers,
children who act corruptly!
They have forsaken 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄;
they have despised the Set Apart One of Yasharal
and turned their backs on Him.
5 Why do you want more beatings?
Why do you keep rebelling?
Your head has a massive wound,
and your whole heart is afflicted.
6 From the sole of your foot to the top of your head,
there is no soundness—
only wounds and welts and festering sores
neither cleansed nor bandaged nor soothed with oil.
7 Your land is desolate;
your cities are burned with fire.
Foreigners devour your fields before you—
a desolation demolished by strangers.
8 And the Daughter of Tsiyon is abandoned
like a shelter in a vineyard,
like a shack in a cucumber field,
like a city besieged.
9 Unless 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 of Hosts
had left us a few survivors,
we would have become like Sedom,
we would have resembled Amorrah.
Meaningless Offerings
10 Hear the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄,
you rulers of Sedom;
listen to the instruction of our Alahym,
you people of Amorrah!
11 “What good to Me is your multitude of sacrifices?”
says 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
“I am full from the burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed cattle;
I take no delight in the blood of bulls
and lambs and goats.
12 When you come to appear before Me,
who has required this of you—
this trampling of My courts?
13 Bring your worthless offerings no more;
your incense is detestable to Me.
New Moons, Sabbaths, and convocations—
I cannot endure iniquity in a solemn assembly.
14 I hate your New Moons
and your appointed feasts.
They have become a burden to Me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15 When you spread out your hands in prayer,
I will hide My eyes from you;
even though you multiply your prayers,
I will not listen.
Your hands are covered with blood.
16 Wash and cleanse yourselves.
Remove your evil deeds from My sight.
Stop doing evil!
17 Learn to do right;
seek justice and correct the oppressor.
Defend the fatherless
and plead the case of the widow.”
18 “Come now, let us reason tOḡether,”
says 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they will be as white as snow;
though they are as red as crimson,
they will become like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the best of the land.
20 But if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword.”
For the mouth of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 has spoken.
The Corruption of Tsyion
21 See how the faithful city has become a harlot!
She once was full of justice;
righteousness resided within her,
but now only murderers!
22 Your silver has become dross;
your fine wine is diluted with water.
23 Your rulers are rebels,
friends of thieves.
They all love bribes
and chasing after rewards.
They do not defend the fatherless,
and the plea of the widow never comes before them.
24 Therefore the Master 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 of Hosts,
the Mighty One of Yasharal, declares:
“Ah, I will be relieved of My foes
and avenge Myself on My enemies.
25 I will turn My hand against you;
I will thoroughly purge your dross;
I will remove all your impurities.
26 I will restore your judges as at first,
and your counselors as at the beginning.
After that you will be called the City of Righteousness,
the Faithful City.”
27 Tsiyon will be redeemed with justice,
her repentant ones with righteousness.

Ma`asei (Acts) Chapter 7
51 You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You always resist the Set Apart Spirit, just as your fathers did. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers fail to persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One. And now you are His betrayers and murderers— 53 you who received the law ordained by messengers, yet have not kept it.”
The Stoning of Stephanos
54 On hearing this, the members of the Sanhedrin were enraged, and they gnashed their teeth at him. 55 But Stephanos, full of the Set Apart Spirit, looked intently into heaven and saw the esteem of Alahym and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 standing at the right hand of Alahym. 56 “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Adam standing at the right hand of Alahym.”
57 At this they covered their ears, cried out in a loud voice, and rushed tOḡether at him. 58 They dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Sh’aul.
59 While they were stoning him, Stephanos appealed, “Master 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏, receive my spirit.” 60 Falling on his knees, he cried out in a loud voice, “Master, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Ma`asei (Acts) Chapter 8
Saul Persecutes the Body of Messiah
1 And Sh’aul was there, giving approval to Stephanos’ death.
On that day a great persecution broke out against the assembly in Yarushalayim, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Yahuḏah and Shomeron. 2 Alahym-fearing men buried Stephanos and mourned deeply over him. 3 But Sh’aul began to destroy the assembly. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.

4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
