No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who have been trained by it.
“Almighty YAH has disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over to death.”
The words of the psalmist in Tehillim 118:18 resonate clearly through today’s Daily Manna verse, as we focus not on the flogging we receive for our transgressions, but on the fruit that this process of spiritual refinement is yielding in our lives right now!
The discipline we receive from the Father as He rebukes us for doing evil towards others, is intended to purify us and perfect our character. He disciplines us because He loves us.
Any parent who turns a blind eye to the misbehavior of their children does not truly love them. Those who do love their children ensure that they steer them away from evil deeds that would lead to their certain destruction.
Let’s give thanks that the Almighty Father loves us so much that He will not just stand by and let us continue on our self-destructive path to doom. Moreover, He has made a way through His Son for us to live a disciplined and blessed life in Him.
