Yoḥanan (John) 11:25

𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies.”

Yoḥanan (John) 11:25

When sin entered the world, death became a reality for humanity. For the past 6,000 years (120 jubilees or yobels), the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has been working out His plan for our total deliverance from sin and death! A major part of His plan was fulfilled 2,000 years ago, when our Messiah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 (YAHUSHUA) came, offering His body as a living sacrifice, substituting Himself as the sacrificial Lamb, taking away the sins of the world. Not only did He take away the sins of the world, He also conquered death and the grave! That’s right. He rested in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights, just as He prophesied it, and He rose again in an esteemed body. By His life, death, and resurrection, Messiah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 was demonstrating how we, too, can enter into life, as we enter into the peace covenant, the renewed covenant in His blood, and become children of the Most High 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄.

There was a certain man Alazar, today called Lazarus in English, who had fallen ill and died. Surely, Messiah could have saved Him from even dying, but He allowed it. Lazarus died and was placed in a tomb. He was there for four days before Messiah showed up. Certainly, his body had already begun to rot by then. Martha told 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 that if He had been there, Lazarus would not have died. Sometimes, that’s how we feel when our loved ones die: we feel that the Father was absent. How else could we rationalize death than thinking that the Father was not there? But let us not forget His promise, that He will NEVER fail us nor forsake us; that His Presence will go before us. So, even in death, He is there!!!

Now, Martha needed to learn a lesson. She needed to learn that the resurrection is not an event! She needed to learn that Messiah Himself IS the resurrection and the life; and He has all power to restore life if He so chooses. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies.” He went on to say: “And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die…” (Yoḥanan (John) 11:25-25)

There is physical death and there is spiritual death! We remain alive in Messiah even after we die physically. The mystery of death is revealed in the Scriptures:

Tehillim (Psalms) 146:4 says of the dead, “When his spirit departs, he returns to the ground; on that very day his plans perish.”

Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 12:6-7 says “Remember Him before the silver cord is snapped and the golden bowl is crushed, before the pitcher is shattered at the spring and the wheel is broken at the well, before the dust returns to the ground from which it came and the spirit returns to Alahym who gave it.”

After Adam sinned and death entered the world, the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said, “For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” (Berĕshith (Genesis) 3:19)

He then promises in Hoshĕa (Hosea) 13:14: “I will ransom them from the power of Sheol (the grave); I will redeem them from Death. Where, O Death, are your plagues? Where, O Sheol, is your sting? Compassion is hidden from My eyes.”

Paul (Hebrew name: Shaul) says: “For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written [in Hoshea] will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to Alahym, who gives us the victory through our Master 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 the Messiah! Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Master, because you know that your labor in the Master is not in vain.” (Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 15:57-58)

May the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 give you peace this day, through our Master and Saviour, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 the Messiah, as you abide in Him, believe in His Name, and do His will!

🕊 Shalum aleichem! (Peace be unto you!)
