Those who belong to Messiah have impaled the flesh with its passions and desires.
The end goal of the season of Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread is that we will be renewed and strengthened in the Spirit. Our weeklong reflection on the saving work of our Messiah is intended to be an annual reminder of all the selfless work He completed to set us free from spiritual bondage to sin. “It is finished,” he declared! There is no other work needed to save us from sin!
Our responsibility now, having accepted the free gift He offered us, is to walk in step with the Spirit. Hanoch (the seventh from Adam – Jude 1:14) walked with the Almighty Father, because He kept in step with the Spirit. We are also called, like Abraham was, to walk before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) and be blameless (Gen 17:1). Galatians 5 gives a clear picture of what we need to guard against. We should not let sin have dominion over us, because living in the Spirit means that we can obey the laws of Kingdom of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄. Lawlessness will not ever enter into His kingdom (Rev 22:15).
Galatians 5:17-23 says: “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
“The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of Alahym.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
This message vindicates the law as good. Romans 7:12 says: “So then, the law is set apart, and the commandment is set apart, righteous, and good.” Sha’ul in the rest of Romans 7 talks about the internal battle people face as they struggle with sin. However, he concludes with this joyful truth:
“What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to Alahym, through 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 (YAHUSHUA) Messiah our Master! So then, with my mind I serve the law of Alahym, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.” (Romans 7:24-25)
Then he goes on to say:
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Messiah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏. For in Messiah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 the law of the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2)
What a wonderful assurance to reflect upon as we conclude this Passover Series of the Daily Manna!
We pray for the Body of Messiah, that each one will accept the gift of deliverance from Messiah. Walk in step with the Set-Apart Spirit as we journey to the Kingdom of the Most High YAH!
🕊 Shalum aleichem! (Peace be unto you!)
