Tehillim (Psalm) 121:8

Tehillim (Psalm) 121:8

Every believer needs to be familiar with what the Scriptures say about blessings and curses, and the reason why we may experience blessings and curses in different phases and situations in our lives. The central truth is that blessings and curses are closely linked with obedience to the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). When Messiah 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 (YAHUSHUA) pronounced the beatitudes in Matthew (MattithYahu) 5, He declared nine blessings:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see Alahym. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of Alahym. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.” (Matthew 5:3-11)

Clearly, Messiah was pronouncing blessings upon those who are steadfast in the way. Deuteronomy (Debarim) 28:2 says that blessings will overtake those who obey the voice of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 Alahym, and they will be blessed when they come in and blessed when they go out. However, on the flip side, Deuteronomy (Debarim) 28:15 says if we do NOT obey 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 our Alahym, and carefully follow all His commandments and statutes, curses will come upon us and overtake us.

But thanks be to the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 that He sent His Son 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 to break the curses. He became accursed for us, so that we could become righteous and blessed through Him!

May the Father 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 give you peace this day, through our Master and Saviour, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤅𐤏 the Messiah, as you and YOUR HOUSEHOLD abide in Him, believe in His Name, and do His will!
