“…The Son of Aḏam did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
Since Messiah ransomed us with His own blood, we are now His servants! Everyone who has accepted His free GIFT comes into a blessed walk, following the Shepherd of our souls! In Luk 12:35-48, Messiah sends a clear message: we must get ready!!! He says: “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning.” This passage reminds of the need to watch and pray. Remember, on the night before Messiah was killed, those who were with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane were told to watch with Him while He prayed. Instead, they fell asleep! They were so overcome by a heavy spirit of slumber, that they did not do as Messiah said. Today, we are called to also watch and pray! This is especially important as we near the close of earth’s history and the time of Messiah’s sure return!
In Luk 12:40, Messiah says: “You also must be ready, because the Son of Adam will come at an hour you do not expect.” He goes on to say in verse 47: “That servant who knows his master’s will but does not get ready or follow his instructions will be beaten with many blows.”
This is a clear warning for us, that we should not be overcome by the spirit of slumber, but get ready as we remain watchful and prayerful!
May Messiah spare us!
